Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
This policy explains how Optero handles information when you visit its website or use the Optero service. It also covers information about people at the companies Optero researches.
1. About Optero
Optero provides the service described in this policy. You can reach Optero about privacy at help@optero.tech.
2. Information you give Optero
- Account details: your name, email address and password. Optero stores your password only as a salted hash. If you continue with Google, Optero receives your basic Google profile details instead.
- Business profile: your company name, website, links, description, target industries and locations, buyer types and the buying signals you choose.
- Documents: files you upload during onboarding, and the text extracted from them.
- What you create in Optero: notes, tags, outreach and call script requests, monitoring preferences, feedback and support messages.
- Billing details: your plan, billing history and payment reference numbers. A payment processor collects your card details directly; Optero does not store full card numbers.
3. Information from other sources
To build opportunity lists, Optero gathers business information from public sources and data providers, including business listings, company websites, news and job postings, and professional profiles. This can include personal information about people at those companies, such as their name, role, work email, phone number, and profile link.
If you are one of those people and did not sign up for Optero, this policy still applies to you. See section 8 for how to contact Optero.
4. Information collected automatically
Optero's servers receive technical information such as your IP address and request details. Optero keeps your sign-in token and a few display preferences in your browser's local storage so that the service works. Optero does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Google may set its own cookies if you use Continue with Google.
5. How Optero uses information
- to provide the service, including company search, research, scoring, contacts, outreach drafts and monitoring;
- to manage your account, subscription and payments;
- to send service emails, such as confirmations, security messages and the monitoring updates you choose;
- to contact you about Optero's products and services, which you can opt out of at any time by sending an email to Optero;
- to provide support, including staff viewing your account in a read-only mode when needed;
- to keep the service secure, fix problems and improve it; and
- to meet legal obligations and enforce Optero's terms.
6. Who Optero shares information with
Optero does not sell personal information. It shares information with service providers that help run the service, only as needed for the work they do:
- AI and research providers: research, classification and drafting. Your business profile and text from your documents may be sent to them to generate results.
- Data providers: finding decision makers and business contact details.
- Payment processors: subscriptions, payments and invoices.
- Email providers: sending email.
- Sign-in providers: Continue with Google.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: running servers and databases.
Optero may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of its business. These providers may process information in other countries, including outside the country where you live.
7. How long Optero keeps information
Optero keeps account information while your account is open. When you close your account, sign-in, monitoring emails, automatic reruns and billing stop, but Optero keeps your account, profile, analyses and payment records so that it can answer questions about them, meet its obligations and reopen the account if needed. To ask Optero to delete your information, email help@optero.tech. Optero may keep what the law requires it to keep.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. You can change much of your information in your account settings, or contact Optero at help@optero.tech. This applies equally if Optero holds information about you because of your role at a company.
9. Security
Optero uses technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure and Optero cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorization.
10. Children
Optero is a business service and is not intended for anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
Optero may update this policy. It will change the date at the top and, when a change is significant, tell you by email or in the service.
Using Optero is also subject to the Terms & Conditions.
